Brief about Shanaya - “Shanaya had just completed her degree in Business Studies with very good marks. After doing a one-year internship and gaining experience as an assistant manager, she was now ready to work full-time. She wanted this job badly.Not just for herself—but to support her family. For the past few days, she had been searching for companies and finally got an interview call. Today was her interview day.She left home late, hopeful and nervous.”
But on the way, she got confused and took the wrong route. Because of that, she got late and had to come back again. Somehow, she managed to find the correct way using Google Maps.
By the time she reached—
she was already late.
She rushed to the reception.
“Excuse me...interviews are going on… where should I go?” she asked in a hurry.
The receptionist looked at her calmly.
“Can you please tell me your name?”
“I am Shanaya.”
The receptionist nodded and called the ward boy.
“Please take her to the interview area.”
He guided her there.
She saw one girl already sitting and waiting.
Shanaya sat beside her, feeling nervous.
“Hi… I’m Shanaya.”. “Hi, I’m Riya,” the girl smiled. Shanaya asked, “Are you nervous?”
Riya said, “I was nervous, but my interview went well. They asked me to wait outside because one more candidate’s interview is going on. After that, they will decide.”
Shanaya thought in her mind—Oh no… I’m so late… lagta hai job toh nahi milegi…
Just then, a staff member and a client came outside.
Shanaya quickly stood up.
“Sir, I am also here for interview.”
He asked, “What’s your name?”
“Shanaya.”
He said, “We have waited for you for 15 minutes.”
She replied, “I was stuck in traffic, so I got late.”
He said, “Okay, give me your resume. I’ll ask the boss.”
She handed over her resume.
He went inside the cabin.
After around 20 minutes, he came back.
“You can go inside,” he said.
“But make sure you tell the boss that this will never happen again.”
Then he added softly,
“Boss is already impressed with your experience and grades. But you haven’t put a clear photo in your resume—update it before final submission. I’m sure you will be selected.”
Shanaya felt a little relief.
“Thank you,” she said.
She walked inside nervously.
Her boss was standing near the window, looking outside and talking on the phone.
She quietly waited.
Her leg suddenly got stuck in the carpet—
and she accidentally dropped some things from the table.
“Oh—I’m sorry, sir!” she said quickly.
Her boss turned, clearly irritated.
“Can you be careful—”
He stopped.
He looked at her with disbelief and annoyance.
She stood there, embarrassed and shocked.

After a few seconds, he walked to his seat.
“Sit,” he said.
She was still lost in her thoughts, looking down.
He said again, slightly louder—
“Hello… please sit.”
She quickly looked up.
“Thank you, sir.”
But the tension between them—
was just beginning.
